And in India

india trip

OK...atlast I'm getting to sit and write about my India trip. Don't ask me if the jet lag was that bad... I was just lagging. Since I came back from India, I have started walking and all that.

Anyways, back to the topic. India trip, that place is so far from here. We took the midnight Singapore airlines from San Francisco. I was up all the time, until the plane took off. Thanks to Appa, we got front most basinet seats. But, that basinet was so small and the flight attendent asked me to be held during take-off, landing and any turbulance. And, that zipper on the basinet; that wasn't nice at all. Anyway, flight was not full... and Appa, Amma spread themselves into three seaters. All my stuff got into one corner and Appa started flirting with flight attendants (atleast that's what Amma thought :-) )

It was long 14 hours long hop to HongKong, I could sleep only for few hours. After that Appa & Amma took me around the plane, showed me the pantry area, rest rooms and all those people eating, snoring.

About eating, Appa had requested premie meal. Though I couldn't eat most of it; Applesauce was very nice. I ate with tons of cereal that Amma had gotten along. That Air hostess was nice. She was from Bombay and helped Appa, Amma with lots of stuff. She got us hot water, warm water, cold water whenever needed. She served food in turns.

It was breaking day in Hong Kong when we landed. I got to stretch my legs at kids play area. Appa made some friends and as usual, got on to the e-mails on his computer. Amma fed me and we got ready for that short flight to Singapore.

Singapore was nice. We could use lounge, Appa had some kind of card. I got warm bath, Appa took an hour in the bath room and Amma had hot shower as well. Then, using the baby bojrn that Sameeeksha gave us; we took that city tour. It was nice, hot, sunny outside in Singapore. But, all of us were sleepy by the end of that two hours. We made friends with a South Korean couple who talked a lot about how they travel to different places to help people as part of some church. I don't know why... but people touch me here, while talking to me!!! It is so different!

We came back... got into the flight and then landed in Bangalore ! It was middle of the night and Amma's two big(yes) brothers, two babies and two mommies had come to the airport. They were all talking to me in Mom's language, touching me and stuff. Anyways, after that we got onto the car and started driving to grandmas & grandpas. Appa's tenant was with us all through.

At grand parent's... I saw Ajja, Ajji and Chikpa. They were all like... oooo, aaa and yooo. Ajji said she is taking all the evil eyes out before I entered house. Also, I did some chaami and then slept.

Then, there was wedding... Appa went to somekind of party night before. Dattu uncle's wedding that was. So many people. I wore a nice silk skirt to the wedding. Amma's parents (other Ajja and Dodda) also came to see me, then my super Ajji (Ajji's Amma) came, Appa's aunts were there. So many people, I don't remember everybody.

Then, that jet lag. Every night for first few days.. .i Just used to sleep all afternoon and used to wakeup at 2 in the morning. And Amma too. We used to play and all that by ourselves. Everybody else used to just sleep.

We went to different places, they had my naming ceremony which was nice. I went to Chennai for a day, many days in Bangalore, Mangalore and Karvar. But, I spent most of my days in Shimoga. That floor in Shimoga was kinda cold. I saw Dabu, Ajja's big dog. He used to play with me all the time. And, there was Bhoomika, and another girl from the next door. They used to come to our house and play all the time with me.

I fell ill twice. Both the times, Appa was not around. He went back to US. Ajja and Ajji were really scared and didn't know what to do. Amma kept of feeding me the medicines she got from US. Then they took me to Appa's childhood doctor. He was nice and blad. I was ok after couple of days. They told me that for two days, they couldn't play with me, take me outside. I think I cought cold when we all went to meet one of the aunts.

I still had that cold on the way back... though the plane was empty, I couldn't sleep and was up all through the journey. Appa took a hotel in Singapore and we got some rest there.
